SCHOLARSHIP

AUTHOR, ETHICIST, PHILSOPHER & THEOLOGIAN

Award-winning biblical scholar, historian, queer theorist, essayist, and ethicist. Questioner of paradigms, and socio-political ethicist. Current areas of study include American religion’s historical and contemporary roles in providing cover for the bigotry of Jim Crow and “Religious Freedom” laws, and the contribution of Audre Lorde’s essays about the power of the erotic in mounting resistance and finding individual and collective resilience in justice-making.


TEACHING

EDUCATOR AND MENTOR

Undergraduate and Graduate professor in ethics, religion, history, legal systems, literature, gender studies, and culture. Community instructor in creativity and spirituality. Private Tutor. Currently teaching undergraduate “Ethics of Health Care” and graduate “Queering the Use of the Bible” courses for, respectively, Excelsior College and Pacific School of Religion.
